What Vegferd knows

Made for Norwegian roads and driving conditions.

Other navigation apps count kilometres and minutes from A to B. Vegferd does the same, but also allows for ferries, mountain passes, driving conditions and charging. Both while planning the route and along the way.

The ferry is part of the road.

The departure, the waiting time and the price are in the route before you leave. On the way, Vegferd follows the ferry live and tells you whether you will make it.

Shown on iPhone 17 Pro.
Ferries on the route: Halhjem → Sandvikvåg 18:10, 45 min, 123 kr, 29 km away and about 8 min of waiting; Arsvågen → Mortavika 21:00, 24 min, 147 kr.
Shown on iPhone 17 Pro.

The mountain pass: open, convoy or closed.

Vegferd compares the routes on the conditions where you pass, with road warnings from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

Compare three routes to Geilo on driving conditions: Hardangervidda good, Hol–Aurland and Hemsedalsfjellet poor with convoy driving.
Shown on iPhone 17 Pro.
Traffic messages along the route with the time you pass: roadworks with traffic lights on fv. 79 at Haukanes at 17:00 and rv. 7 at Flå at 20:11, a reduced speed limit on E16 at Nypefoss bridge, and contraflow on E18 at Lysaker at 21:26.
Shown on iPhone 17 Pro.

Driving conditions when you get there.

Not the conditions now, but when you get there. Road surface temperature, precipitation and slippery roads, hour by hour along the route.

The driving conditions to Geilo as a graph: the road surface temperature drops below zero over Hardangervidda, with the weather and road warnings for the hour you pass.
Shown on iPhone 17 Pro.

Free chargers in real time.

Find charging stations and free charging points in real time along the route, with power and connector.

The charging station Circle K Nesttun: 400 kW CCS, 4 of 6 free, with the status of each charging point and when it was last seen.
Shown on iPhone 17 Pro.

Traffic messages along the route.

The traffic messages in the order you meet them, with the time you pass.

The traffic messages along the route: roadworks and periodically closed at Knappahola, manual traffic control on the E134 at Vetlehovden, with kilometres and the time you pass.

On the car screen

Full support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the car.

Vegferd has the same look and the same functionality across both platforms.

The car screen in a Jaguar I-Pace with Vegferd in Apple CarPlay: turn left in 1.9 km onto Birkelundsbakken, county road 585, speed limit 50, priority road, speed 47 km/h, and arrival 22:52 with 4 h 22 min and 174 km left.

Apple CarPlay

Connect your iPhone and the route is on the car screen: the turn, the sign, your speed and the arrival, just as on the phone.

The car screen in a Jaguar I-Pace with Vegferd in Android Auto: turn left in 1.3 km onto Birkelundsbakken, county road 585, speed limit 50, priority road, speed 44 km/h, and 4 h 38 min and 200 km left.

Android Auto

The same app on your Android phone and the car screen. The route, the speed limit and the time left, without touching the phone.
